it all begins with a single breath

about breathwork

what is breathwork?

Breathwork is a facilitated experience that allows participants to connect more deeply with their physical body and their emotions.

what HAPPENS in a SESSION?

During a Breathwork session, you’ll practice a circular breath known as Conscious Connected Breathing. This allows you to access parts of the body that hold stress, past events, and trauma. This active, continuous breath is done by taking in and releasing air through the mouth. By focusing on the breath, the ego is temporarily set aside, opening a portal to healing.

what TO BRING TO A SESSION?

To make the most of your session, participants are encouraged to bring a pillow or bolster, an eye cover, a water bottle, a journal, and one or two cozy blankets. These items help you feel comfortable, supported, and ready to fully experience the benefits of breathwork.

How long is a breathwork session?

Each session is 90 minutes. It begins with a grounding exercise and then moves into the active portion of the session. Afterward, we transition into the non-active phase, giving participants an opportunity to fully take in the benefits of the breathing. The session concludes with a meditation or a reflective reading.

what will you experience?

Physical sensations may include the following temporary sensations, which typically disappear at the end of the practice:

  • Tingling or numbness in face, hands, or legs

  • Temperatures changes within the body

  • Light headedness

Participants may also experience strong emotions during the practice, including sadness, joy, anger – or nothing at all. It is normal to experience resistance, or a desire to stop, during the initial phase of the session. Participants often find the first ten minutes the most challenging.

what are the benefits?

Breathwork can allow participants to access and release stored-up emotions from work, relationships, and life events. This release of stress supports physical and mental well-being, while the practice of conscious breathing provides numerous physiological benefits.

who should not participate in a breathwork session?
